Guess who showed up at camp today?

GriffeySignYup, that’s Ken Griffey Jr., signing autographs and schmoozing with fans during today’s workout on one of the backfields at the Peoria Complex.

Griffey will be in town for a few days advising Minor Leaguers and anybody else who wants to talk baseball in his role as a team consultant.

Jay Buhner is also in camp doing the same as the Mariners take advantage of some of their former greats. Expect Edgar Martinez and Dan Wilson to arrive later.

Griffey said he’ll be splitting time between Peoria and Tucson, where his son, Trey, is a 19-year-old freshman wide receiver at the University of Arizona.

Junior said while Trey is a receiver, he loves to hit. Like father, like son, no doubt …
